We kicked-off the SELMA project with a three days virtual gathering!
SELMA is shaping AI speech and text technologies for media and the newsroom. The project will help media monitors and journalists make sense of huge content streams (big data analysis) – and also enable them to enrich audiovisual (AV) output through transcription, translation, voice-over and subtitling, thus making it more accessible.
Five European institutions have teamed up to establish the language platform including Avignon University – Laboratoire Informatique d’Avignon (LIA), University of Latvia – Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science (IMCS), Priberam, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (FhG) and Deutsche Welle – Innovation projets. SELMA is led by DW.
